À travers ses peintures, Isaac Aden traite des préoccupations primordiales de la condition humaine tout en laissant de la place aux expériences profondément personnelles de chaque spectateur. À première vue, les peintures évoquent le minimalisme car elles se lisent comme des monochromes monolithiques. À y regarder de plus près, elles semblent davantage se rapprocher des toiles du champ de couleur avec une vaste gamme de couleurs subtiles révélées. Les peintures paraissent d'une simplicité illusoire, mais elles sont en réalité très complexes dans leur production méthodique qui comprend de nombreuses couches de sous-peinture et un mélange de couleurs sur la surface utilisant la pulvérisation et le vent extérieur pour apporter un élément de hasard et de sérendipité.
Après une période prolongée d'observation en personne, les peintures se révèlent être une sorte de pointillisme post-minimal composé de milliards de minuscules points de couleur pure flottant ensemble pour créer des étendues nébuleuses. Les relations entre les couleurs d'Aden ont une relation implicite avec le temps : éphémère, finissant, commençant, et toujours en cours. Cela suscite une réponse plus subjective chez les spectateurs, car chaque peinture aura sa propre relation avec le temps et le souvenir de son passage.
Les peintures d'Aden évoquent le sublime, mais elles se concentrent moins sur un sublime de la terreur et plus sur un sublime exaltant, de nature spirituelle. De même, l'échelle des toiles engloutit la périphérie du spectateur, et l'effet du dégradé graduel crée un champ sans limites. Cette absence de forme observable ne permet pas au spectateur de s'accrocher à un signifiant ou un objet spécifique dans la peinture. Le résultat est de donner une agence interprétative au public, créant une expérience hautement subjective et profondément personnelle.
