OUR STORY

OUR STORY

Founded in 2015, the Amélie du Chalard Gallery now represents nearly one hundred artists from around the world, at different stages of their careers.

Our programme explores the many forms of contemporary visual art—painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, installation, and textile art—united by a shared interest in materiality, which forms the gallery's guiding thread. It brings together established figures from the French art scene alongside emerging and mid-career artists from across the international contemporary art landscape.

Beyond its exhibition programme, the gallery is committed to supporting artists over the long term, helping to develop their practice and expand their visibility among private collectors, foundations, institutions, and corporate collections. This commitment is enriched by an ongoing dialogue with art critics, historians, curators, and writers, whose perspectives extend the encounter with the works and contribute to shaping their interpretation.

With locations in Paris and New York, the gallery presents around a dozen exhibitions each year, both in its own spaces and through off-site projects, with the ambition of creating meaningful contexts for looking at, reflecting on, and engaging in dialogue with works of art.

At Amelie du Chalard Gallery, we are committed to fostering meaningful relationships with both our artists and collectors. We assist clients in refining their artistic sensibility and support them in curating a unique collection evolving over time. We provide a range of bespoke services, including private gallery visits, art advising, professional framing, and personalized artwork installation at the collector’s home.

A gallery is a place where artworks are transformed by context, and for the past ten years, this has been the idea at the heart of my work.

------

I founded the gallery with a simple intuition: to present artworks in lived-in spaces, in dialogue with architecture, objects, light, and everyday life. Time has only confirmed this intuition. Exhibiting is not enough; what matters is creating a living, intimate relationship between artists, their works, and those who encounter them.

--------
Today, I want to deepen this approach by giving even greater importance to dialogue, the sharing of knowledge, and critical reflection around artistic creation, so that each artwork becomes part of a broader conversation about the ways we inhabit our lives.

--------

My hope for the next ten years is to remain true to the conviction that has guided me from the beginning
-----
we do not simply learn how to look at an artwork we learn how to live with it.
