We are very happy to present our new exhibition which brings together a selection of works by the sculptor Guido De Zan and the visual artist Juliette Lemontey.
Two artists of different generations and nationalities, whose work is similar in several aspects: an economy of means, a sure but imperfect line, the use of subdued colours and a particular treatment of the material.
Juliette Lemontey, born in 1979, trained at the Ecole Régionale des Beaux Arts in Valence. She draws and composes on old linen with a visible patina, creating faces that are barely sketched or erased, creating an intimacy, a closeness that sends us back to our own history.
Guido De Zan, an Italian born in 1947, is a ceramist and began researching ceramics in 1975. Today, he combines ceramic production with graphic research, using various techniques and materials. He has been working as a ceramist for 40 years, during which time he has sought to "lighten" the material and search for balance, however unstable and fragile it may be. He lives and works in Milan.
